Post- Results Services

Services available:

Service 1: Clerical Check

A clerical check of a marked paper will make sure that:

  • All of the pages were marked
  • All of the marks were counted
  • The result matches the marks on the paper.

Your grade can go down as well as up.

You can request these services for individual units or components.

You can only request a clerical check once for each paper.

Service 2 and 2P: Review of marking and priority review of marking

f you request a review or priority review of marking:

  • It includes a clerical check
  • A second examiner will review the paper/recording
again to identify genuine marking errors or unreasonable marking.

Your grade can go down as well as up.

You can request these services for individual units or components.

You can request a copy of the reviewed paper for an additional fee.

A review is the standard speed service for any student. A priority review is a quicker service for students whose place at a university or other higher educational institution depends on the outcome.

Access to a copy of marked scripts

This is a photocopy of the marked exam paper that you can use to decide whether to request a review of marking or a clerical check.

Don’t do this if your university place is pending, go straight to a priority review of marking instead.

Priority copies aren’t available for some externally assessed units, but you can request the candidate record form or marking grid instead.

Where available, a copy of the mark scheme will also be provided.

How to request post result services

Please note that grade protection does not apply to any post-results service (clerical check or review of marking) which means that candidates’ marks and subject grades may be lowered, confirmed or raised as a result.

All requests for post-results services must go through the Exams Officer who will submit them to the awarding bodies. Students and parents cannot contact the awarding bodies. Please complete the appropriate consent form and return it to exams@greatfieldsschool.com before the deadline stated in this letter. The forms can also be found on our Exams web page.

Please note that we cannot accept requests for post-results services from anybody other than the candidate concerned and marking review outcomes and scripts cannot be issued to anybody else without the candidate’s prior consent.

Our deadline for submission of the forms to the Exams Officer are:

  • Service 1, 2 and 3 submission is 23rd September at 5 pm
  • Access to Scripts submission is 5th September at 5 pm.

The deadline for awarding organisation’s receipt is 29th September for Services 1, 2 and 3 and the 9th September for ATS requests.  Our deadlines are set earlier to ensure we can meet the deadlines of awarding organisations and we will not be able to process enquiries received after this time.
