It has been a very positive start to term and it has been wonderful to have the students back in school.<br \/>\nPlease can I remind you about the guidance regarding Covid 19 and ask for your support in keeping you child at home if they are showing symptoms. I know it is frustrating to be asked to keep your child at home when they have just returned but our priority has to be to protect the school community and minimise the risk of Covid 19 cases in school. The guidance is as follows:<br \/>\n1) If your child has a temperature or a persistent cough or loss of taste or smell please do not send them into school.<br \/>\n2) If a member of your household has any of these symptoms, please don&#8217;t send your child into school.<br \/>\n3) If your child has symptoms your child will need to self isolate for 10 days unless they receive a negative test result before the ten days are over.<br \/>\n4) If another member of your household has symptoms your child will need to isolate for 14 days or until the member of the household has received a negative test result.<br \/>\n5) If your child receives a positive test for Covid 19 please inform the school immediately.<br \/>\nIf we do have a confirmed case of Covid 19 within a year group we will contact Public Health England immediately for advice and they will trace the child&#8217;s contacts. It is possible that as a result they will ask us to send the entire year group home for two weeks &#8211; if this happens I will be in touch with you immediately.<br \/>\nFrom next week, our teachers will be posting all lesson resources on Show My Homework, as well as students&#8217; homework, so that if your child has to self isolate they can access the work being done in school online while they are at home and can complete it in their exercise books. If your child is off school and does not have access to a computer or internet please contact your child&#8217;s Head of Year and they will arrange for a work pack to be collected or sent home.<br \/>\nI have attached a letter and guidance from Matthew Cole, who is the local Director of Public Health England, which gives further information and guidance.
