{"id":8870,"date":"2020-05-19T12:56:57","date_gmt":"2020-05-19T11:56:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.greatfieldsschool.com\/?p=8870"},"modified":"2020-05-19T12:56:57","modified_gmt":"2020-05-19T11:56:57","slug":"reopening-of-school-for-year-10-students-on-8th-june","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.greatfieldsschool.com\/?p=8870","title":{"rendered":"Reopening of school for Year 10 students on 8th June"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear parents and carers,<br \/>\nI hope you and your families are well.<br \/>\nI wanted to update you on the plans for a gradual reopening of the school for Year 10 students in June<br \/>\n1) School will reopen for all Year 10 students on Monday 8th June.<br \/>\n2) Students will be split into two groups; one group will start at 9am and finish at 2pm; the second group will start at 10.30am and finish at 3.30pm. We will send details nearer the time about which students will be in each group &#8211; this will depend on what GCSE options they have chosen.<br \/>\n3) There will be no more than 12 students in a classroom &#8211; the classrooms have been measured to ensure a safe distance can be maintained between desks.<br \/>\n4) Social distance markings will be in place on the playground and in the corridors to ensure students maintain a safe distance from each other at all times.<br \/>\n5) There will be handwashing facilities at the school entrance to enable students to wash their hands when entering and leaving the building.<br \/>\n6) In order to minimise movement around the building students will remain in the same classroom during the day and teachers will move between classrooms.<br \/>\n7) Students will have 3 hours of English, Maths and Science each week and 2 hours in every other subject.<br \/>\n8) There will be a 30 minute PE lesson at the end of each day in order to give students the opportunity for fresh air and exercise.<br \/>\n9) Students may were face covernings or masks if they wish to, but this will not be compulsory.<\/p>\n<p>My absolute priority is the safety of my staff and students and I am confident that the safety measures we are putting in place will keep everyone safe. I also believe it is vitally important for our Year 10 students to get back into the routine of being in school, seeing their friends and resuming their GCSE studies.<br \/>\nMr Taqi and Miss Leach will be phoning all Year 10 parents and carers this week to ask you if you intend to send your child to school on 8th June. If you have any questions please don&#8217;t hesitate to contact the school at office@greatfieldsschool.com.<\/p>\n<p>I understand that many of you will be anxious about your child returning to school but please be reassured by the safety measures\u00a0 we ar etaking and the positive benefits for your child, both emotionally and mentally, of being back in school.
