Students watched a number of short films in Spanish and completed\u00a0collaborative comprehension activities before and after. To end the day, our students watched a very insightful film called <em>&#8216;La Jaula de Oro&#8217;<\/em>, (The golden cage), in Spanish with English subtitles. This film looked at the journey of three young people from Guatemala and their struggles when trying to cross the Mexican border to get to the US.
