Today our Year 7 pupils took part in a whole year group trip to the Tate Modern Art gallery in central London. This is the second year in a row that we have conducted the trip for Year 7 pupils and once again it was an all-round success. The pupils really enjoyed getting to see some of London\u2019s most famous landmarks, including St Paul\u2019s Cathedral, The Shard, Tower Bridge, Millennium Bridge, Big Ben and the London Eye. For some of them it was the first time seeing these places. Once at the Gallery the pupils were given a tailored tour of the art collection and were able to view first hand art produced by some of the artists they have been studying this year, including Sonia Delaunay and Andy Warhol. They also learnt about Cubist and Surrealist artists in preparation for their Year 8 Art curriculum. The tour guides commented on what a creative and imaginative group of students we have and were impressed by how the pupils conducted themselves around the gallery and the questions they posed in regards to the artwork on display. This was a great occasion for our pupils to be exposed to creative culture within our great City!<\/p>\n
