Today our year eights had a series of workshops and assemblies raising awareness around the effects of knife crime in our community.\u00a0 We had speakers from the police, ambulance service and the Robert Levy Foundation <\/span>www.robertlevyfoundation.org.uk<\/a>\u00a0 The talks were all interactive and hard hitting and our students engaged in a very positive way.\u00a0 The speakers all commended our students on their mature attitude to a very difficult issue.\u00a0\u00a0 There was a lot of difficult emotional issues raised and you may want to talk to your child about the day as some became upset listening to the speakers stories.\u00a0 If you wish to know more about the content of the day please contact Mr Gillham at Greatfields.\u00a0 One student commented that \u201cIt was a really useful day, I learned how to save a life from the paramedic.\u00a0 \u00a0But the best bit was listening to Nathan\u2019s story about his brother, it was so emotional.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
