This week in assembly Miss Barry spoke to our pupils about gender equality in relation to it being International Women’s Day on Thursday 8th March. She highlighted the fact that you don’t need to be a woman to support International Women’s Day, you just need to believe in gender equality, that is men and women should have equal rights in all aspects of life. The pupils were astonished to learn that it has been 100 hundred years since women were given the right to vote, men are paid 13.9% more than women in the same role and that 63 million girls worldwide cannot go to school.
