{"id":5634,"date":"2018-02-09T08:19:47","date_gmt":"2018-02-09T08:19:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.greatfieldsschool.com\/?p=5634"},"modified":"2018-02-09T08:19:47","modified_gmt":"2018-02-09T08:19:47","slug":"trip-to-matilda-in-the-west-end","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.greatfieldsschool.com\/?p=5634","title":{"rendered":"Trip to Matilda in the West End"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nameera and Mary in Year 8 have written the following report from the trip to Matilda on Tuesday night:<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday 6<sup>th<\/sup> February a group of lucky students had the opportunity of going to see Matilda: The Musical at the Cambridge Theatre. The coach journey was filled with the excitement of buzzing students, eager to see the musical. On arrival, we were greeted with the enchanting, bright lights of the theatre. We could hardly wait to see the production.<\/p>\n<p>The show was amazing, it was full of great comedy: Miss Trunchbull was played by a man and he was exceptional.\u00a0 The young actors didn\u2019t disappoint, every scene was perfectly timed as we sang along with the catchy tunes.\u00a0 The scenes in which actors ran through the aisles was different and allowed us, as the audience to be involved.\u00a0 Also we must mention the amazing scene where all the actors were dancing on swings, at times it felt as they would jump into the stalls.\u00a0 The performance stunned the audience and as the show closed, there were standing ovations all round.<\/p>\n<p>All the teachers \u2013 Ms Sarwar especially \u2013 were impressed by our behaviour during the night and how well we represented the school. This shows that we can be trusted to have future late-night trips to the theatre. Amanda \u2013 from 8MOORE \u2013 simply stated how she loved the show and she would love to go on future theatre trips.
