Fifteen students from Greatfields School were offered the opportunity to participate in a networking and careers workshop at Lords Cricket Ground. The session was opened by the CEO of the MCC, who told the students about his journey from school right the way up until his recent appointment. The students were then treated to a careers workshop. The purpose of this was for students to apply their knowledge of subject areas to potential jobs. This was done through the medium of looking at how to help through the medium of natural disasters. After a lunch break, students then participated in a speed networking event. Employers from major companies sat one to one with students and they were given four minutes to ask as many questions as they wanted and to take down notes and contact details. This is where our students really thrived, they talked freely and politely with employers, asking probing and relevant questions. To have such an experience at this age for our students is second to none. Many students came out of the event with multiple careers options, which they would like to pursue.<\/p>\n
