Eid Mubarak to all of our families who have been celebrating Eid over<br \/>\nthe past few days.<\/p>\n<p>As we approach the end of another term, I wanted to write to you to highlight some of the<br \/>\nachievements of our wonderful staff and students this term.<\/p>\n<p>Greatfields School Dance Company, made up of 31 girls across a range of year groups, won the<br \/>\nregional south east heat of the &#8216;Great Big Dance Off&#8217;. We are incredibly proud of the girls for this<br \/>\nachievement and we wish them the best of luck in the national finals of the competition this summer.<br \/>\nThank you to Mrs White and Ms Faringdon for all of their hard in preparing the students for the<br \/>\ncompetition.<\/p>\n<p>Two weeks ago, a number of Year 7 students and their families took part in a Health Eating Workshop,<br \/>\nin which they learnt how to prepare meals in a sustainable and affordable way. It was lovely to see<br \/>\nso many young people and their families cooking together and learning new skills. Thank you to Ms<br \/>\nCuthbert for organising this.<\/p>\n<p>Year 8 have all had the opportunity to visit the Natural History Museum, and many thanks to the<br \/>\ngeography department for all of their hard work in organising these trips.<\/p>\n<p>We are also very excited about our upcoming Gascoigne Youth Summit this week, which will involve<br \/>\nstudents from Greatfields and local primary schools Gascoigne, Ripple and St Joseph&#8217;s coming<br \/>\ntogether to discuss some of the challenges they face as young people in our community.<\/p>\n<p>Our Year 11 and 13 students have been working hard in preparation for the upcoming public exams<br \/>\nwhich begin after Easter. It is so important that they continue to work hard over Easter and to attend<br \/>\nrevision sessions at school which are on offer. Every day counts as we approach their exams.<\/p>\n<p>The final day of term will be Friday 4th April. Please note that this will be a normal school day, with all<br \/>\nstudents finishing at 3pm.
