Dear families,<\/div>\n

As we approach the end of the year, I want to take this opportunity to briefly reflect on the year, to thank you for all of your support and to remind you of some of our key expectations for next year.<\/div>\n
–<\/span><\/div>\n
It has been another busy year with some great successes for the school:<\/div>\n
–<\/span><\/div>\n

  • \n
    39 students, in Years 9 and 12, completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh expedition – the first Greatfields students to ever do so.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    The Key Stage 3 Dance Company came fourth in the London Youth Games, and eighth in a national competition. A phenomenal achievement by the girls<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    The Year 12 Basketball Academy Boys won the AOC London League, in their first season. A huge\u00a0congratulations<\/span>\u00a0to all of the boys.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    The school held its first ever Careers Fair for Years 9, 10 and 12 with over 20 organisations attending.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    All students in Years 10 and 12 successfully completed their Work Experience placements.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  • \n
    One of our students in Year 11 has been offered a place at The Brit School, the most prestigious Performing Arts School in the country.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
    –<\/span><\/div>\n
    We say farewell to our first Year 13 cohort. I would like to thank them all for the leadership and hard work they have shown throughout their time at Greatfields. 89% of our Year 13 students have conditional offers for universities, and two of our students will be going to start apprenticeships. I wish you all the very best for the future.<\/div>\n
    –<\/span><\/div>\n
    In preparation for the new school year in September, I would like to remind families around the expectations of uniform. Please can you ensure that your children return to school with all of the correct uniform in September:<\/div>\n
    –<\/span><\/div>\n
    Blazer<\/div>\n
    Black polo shirt<\/div>\n
    Black trousers or skirt<\/div>\n
    Black school shoes<\/div>\n
    No trainers<\/b><\/div>\n
    No jewellery\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n
    –<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n
    If you need to buy new uniform, there will be a uniform sale at school on the following dates over the summer holidays: 30th\u00a0July; 9th\u00a0August; 20th\u00a0August<\/div>\n
    –<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n
    The final day of term is\u00a0Thursday 18th\u00a0July.\u00a0<\/b>Students will be leaving school from 11am onwards; lunch will be available for all students before they leave.<\/div>\n

    The first day of term for students in September will be:<\/div>\n
    –<\/span><\/div>\n
    Wednesday 4th\u00a0September at 8.40am, for Years 7 and 12<\/div>\n
    Thursday 5th\u00a0September at 8.40am for Years 8, 9, 10, 11 and 13.<\/div>\n
