On Thursday 20th April, Greatfields KS3 Year 7 and 8 5-aside Girls Football Team travelled to Barking Abbey to compete in the borough tournament.<\/p>\n
Greatfields were allocated in league 2 which consisted of Dagenham Park, Eastbury and Barking Abbey picking up 7 points out of 9 to qualify for the final. In the finals, Greatfields played a strong Eastbrook team which took the lead early on. However, the girls were determined showing great character and resilience to level the score with 3 minutes left the on the clock to send the match to penalties.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately, Greatfields came up short in the shootout losing 4-1 finishing as runners up. I want to say a massive well done to the team for the progress made this season.<\/p>\n
