Dear parent\/carer, I hope you and your families are well. As I am sure you are aware, the NEU have called a series of strikes over the coming weeks. The first strike is scheduled to take place next Wednesday 1st\u00a0February. As a result of the strike the school will be closed on this day, as I cannot guarantee enough teachers will be in school to ensure the health and safety of students. A small group of vulnerable students will be invited to attend school on this day \u2013 the school will be in touch with these families separately over the coming days. If you are a key worker and cannot arrange childcare for that day then please e-mail the office, reply to this e-mail or call the school directly, and we can arrange for your child to come into school. Please note that normal lessons will not be running on the day, and students will be studying independently for the day, under the supervision of a member of staff. For students who are not in school on this day, and in particular for Year 11 and 12 students, it is essential that they study independently at home, using the time to revise and complete independent learning that they have been set. I have attached a link to the Oak National Academy, which is an online series of lessons for all subjects.
