Greatfields School is now offering the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award! If you’re in Year 9 or Year 12 and are looking for a challenge and a nationally recognised award then Welcome to DofE. The DofE will give you the exciting opportunity to build up your physical <\/strong>abilities; learn a new skill <\/strong>and volunteer <\/strong>in your local community every single week. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Towards the end of the year, you will then get the chance to go on a 2 day \/ 1 night expedition <\/strong>through the countryside and sleep in tents. The award is well known around the country and is considered one of the most impressive accomplishments a student can do, whilst completing their studies at the same time. Employers and universities both look at the award as a great achievement. There will also be the opportunity to move onto the Silver and Gold awards in the future and a chance for more year groups to get involved. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For now, if you’re in Year 9 and 12 and you’re interested, please find Ms Worrall in A14 or parents can send an email to the school for more information. Parents and students are invited to attend a Question and Answer evening on Tuesday 20th September at 5:30pm, we will be sending out letters next week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
