I have been very impressed with the positive attitude shown by the students throughout the term and I am particularly pleased with the way in which they have engaged so positively with the new extended day. It has been wonderful to see the return of sporting fixtures against other schools; trips to museums\/theatres and other venues; and the start of rehearsals for our first ever school production,&nbsp;<i>The Wizard of Oz,&nbsp;<\/i>which will take place in the summer. Our Year 11 students have been working extremely hard ahead of their mock exams this week, and we wish them the best of luck in these exams over the next couple of weeks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_xmsonormal\">\n<p class=\"x_xmsonormal\">Please note the following information regarding the end of this term and arrangements for the start of next term:<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_xmsonormal\">\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"x_xmsonormal\">The last day of term is Thursday 16th December. Students will be dismissed from school at 3pm.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_xmsonormal\">The final extended day of this term will take place on Wednesday 8<sup>th <\/sup>December. There will be no extended day on Thursday 9<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;December, due to Year 7<span class=\"x_apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span>Parents\u2019 Evening, and&nbsp;<b>we will not be running the extended day in the last week of term<\/b>&nbsp;in order to give our staff and students a well earned break at the end of a long term. This means that all students will finish school at 3pm every day in the final week. The extended day will continue as normal next term.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_xmsonormal\">The decision has been made to ban hoodies from next term as too many students are wearing hoodies around the school as part of their uniform throughout the day. Students will still be able to wear jackets inside the building during the winter months.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_xmsonormal\">At the start of next term we have been asked by the government to test all students on site before they return to school:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"x_xmsonormal\">Years 10 and 11: testing will take place on Tuesday 4<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;January at the Lower School site and students will return to school as normal on&nbsp;<b>Wednesday 5<sup>th<\/sup>January<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_xmsonormal\">Years 7,8 and 9: testing will take place on Wednesday 5<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;January and students will return to school as normal on&nbsp;<b>Thursday 6<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;January<\/b>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"x_xmsonormal\">Please note that on the testing days, students will just come into school to be tested and then return home.
