{"id":11383,"date":"2021-11-03T08:39:23","date_gmt":"2021-11-03T08:39:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.greatfieldsschool.com\/?p=11383"},"modified":"2021-11-03T08:39:24","modified_gmt":"2021-11-03T08:39:24","slug":"national-poetry-day-%f0%9f%93%9c","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.greatfieldsschool.com\/?p=11383","title":{"rendered":"National Poetry Day ?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On Thursday 7th October, all Key stage 3 students participated in a National Poetry Day lesson and competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the lesson students played a word association game and watched a spoken word poetry video. Students then had the opportunity to think about and discuss with their partners the key theme of \u2018Choice\u2019 for National Poetry Day this year. They then had the opportunity to brainstorm and create a stream of consciousness on their ideas. Ultimately, this led to the writing of poems, some of which included poems about Black Lives Matter, friendships, family and many more!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many students were excited about the opportunity to write and speak their own poems and chose to enter into the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout the week, the National Poetry Day competition allowed students to write their own poem about choice.
